A good way to clean!

British street artist Paul Curtis (aka “Moose”) began pioneering his form ‘Green’ or ‘reverse Graffiti’ in 2007. Curtis literally scrubbed his way to fame using giant stencils and high-pressure water hoses to wash reverse images (mostly of trees and nature) onto soiled city surfaces. It did not take long before the aspirant street artist began conquering the cityscapes of London, applying his vigorous selective scrubbing to more prominent walls and bridges.

For me this is art at it's best, inventive, transient, accessible and working with whatever materials you have to hand. Brilliant long live the inventive mind.

Midweek meander.

Well I managed to get the posts in the right order this week I suppose that's a step forward! I received a great email from a friend of mine (thank you Clare)  some wonderful street art so I thought that I would share them with you, they are tagged 'The Best Street Art Masterpieces 2010'. As you know I love street art in all it's forms so I hope you enjoy these as much as I did.

What can I say 'WOW amazing'

Midweek meander.

Here are some images of graffiti boards that I saw in Pizza

I think these images are really interesting in terms of text font, image and layout, for me they are reminiscent of journal pages. I also found painted on the gable end of a building the last public work from Keith Haring before he died, brilliant full of energy.

These images are just details of the complete painting which covered the whole of the end of the building.

Thought for today.

Midweek meander.

Sorry that the posts have been a bit erratic over the last week but what with internet problems, friends and family to stay and the bank holiday, well what do you expect! Hopefully things will settle down now but it is the start of a new academic year so who knows, the best laid plans and all that! So before I get back to the serious stuff Ive had a meander around more fun yarn bombing, I just love it.

All these creatures caught in a web.

Potholes.

What a great way of filling up the potholes.

Artist Julianna Santacruz Herrera has done a bit of yarn bombing by filling up the potholes and cracks in the pavements of Paris using colourful strips of fabric and yarn.
Certainly makes the point don't you think.

Get excited - make things.

More please.

Hi I've had such a good response to the yarn bombing that I thought you might like some more. This is really happening everywhere around the world, textile graffiti that doesn't damage buildings, certainly cheers people up in these austere times! Enjoy.

Street Art.

Street art is a huge subject area and a very interesting one at that, whether you like it or not depends on your perspective but like every area in art their is good and bad. Some of the stuff that I found on www.streetartutopia.com is amazing, see what you think. We declare the world as our canvas!

A new take on shadow drawing.

Great use of an old industrial site.

Would you have thought of this if you saw grass growing out of a wall, see the world with new eyes.

I don't know many of the artists to give them the credit they deserve but this one is Banksy.

These three make me smile, always a good thing!

Gemeos Lithuania

and finally

Changed your mind or do you still think it's just a load of old graffiti!
